HEALTHCARE MANDATE

Lets use tax dollars to benefit tax payers
The Trump Administration and the GOP in Congress successfully got rid of the Individual Health Care Mandate under Obamacare, which penalized people for not having health insurance. For some people, healthcare wasnt affordable, and for some, it wasnt a necessity.

Not to be outdone, the California State Assembly and Senate decided to draft, debate, and pass legislation which was approved by Governor Newsom to implement the California Individual Health Care Mandate.

Effective January 1, 2020, a new state law requires California residents to maintain qualifying health insurance throughout the year. This requirement applies to each resident, their spouse or domestic partner, and their dependents.

The penalty for not having coverage the entire year will be at least $750 per adult and $375 per dependent child under 18 in the household when you file your 2020 state income tax return in 2021. A family of four that goes uninsured for the whole year would face a penalty of at least $2,250.

In the same piece of legislation, our leadership decided to raise the max age limit for illegal aliens to receive free medical and healthcare in California. In essence slapping the hard working citizen who cant afford health care in the face.

Our first order of business would be to dismantle the Individual Health Care Mandate, and then direct funds that are being used for illegal aliens to go towards assisting those citizens that truly need the assistance in living a healthy life in our State.
